Picking strawberries is one of my family’s favorite things to do in May here in Middle Tennessee. We haven’t been in a few years, so it was on this year’s bucket list as a MUST DO. Last week we decided, on a whim, to get lost on some backroads while driving from Franklin, Tennessee, to a beautiful farm in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, about 25 miles outside of Nashville.
It was our first time visiting Batey Farms, but it will not be our last. We knew from the very first moment there that this would be our family’s go-to for berry picking in the future. What a beautiful farm, y’all. It had me captivated from the very start.
About Batey Farms
Batey Farms has been around since 1807. Yes, you read that right, 1-8-0-7. They not only offer delicious strawberries but also have blueberries and blackberries available for picking, pork products and also offer sunflower viewing from late July to early August. I can’t wait to venture out and see the beautiful blooming sunflowers later this summer.
And back to those strawberries y’all, YUM. You really can’t get much better than freshly picked strawberries on a warm sunny summer’s day.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from our outing at Batey Farms. I look forward to making this a family tradition that we can continue for many years to come.
Where do you like to go to pick berries in beautiful Middle Tennessee? I’d love to know!
