I embarked on a wellness journey about three years ago, after battling years of anxiety. It had taken over my life in a way that left me gasping for air, time and time again — each time fighting for the strength to overcome it alone. I was too proud, too scared, too much of an “I got this” girl to admit that I was slowly spiraling.
“Stop Believing The Lies About Who You Are So You Can Become Who You Were Meant To Be” – by Rachel Hollis
There was a distinct moment I remember when I recognized a desperate need for change. It was when I knew that I had to make my health a priority. During that time, I rediscovered my love for books and reading and started carving time out of my days for reading everything I could get my hands on. Reading quickly became my lifeline. I spent hours just breathing in every single inspiring word that was placed before me. My genre of choice was non-fiction/inspirational books written by women who were often very similar to myself. And y’all, I promise you that through the words of some truly amazing writers, I became a new me. Even though I knew that my anxiety would be forever, having an outlet was life-changing.

Fast forward to today and a plethora of amazing books later and I am here to tell you about a book I read last year. Y’all, “YOU REALLY HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK.” I say this because “Girl, Wash Your Face” by Rachel Hollis is absolutely, without an inkling of a doubt, one of my favorite books of all time.
Rachel Hollis’s words have shaken things up within me in a real way. Inspired. Motivated. Instilled an even greater drive and determination than I had before (which is a lot). Made me clean out all of my kitchen cabinets and tackle my pantry, y’all. (Yes, true story!) So grateful for her honesty and her grit. Y’all, the woman has grit!
She is effortlessly witty with a positive go-getter spirit, and she will absolutely inspire you to GO GET IT! Whatever IT may be for you. So seriously y’all, GO READ THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW! “Girl, Wash Your Face,” I promise, is a life changer!
How about you? Have you read any books recently that have changed your life in a real way?
