10 Ways To Practice Daily Gratitude Today

Why is daily gratitude important? Several years ago, I asked myself that very question. I had recently had my third son and was feeling an enormous amount of gratefulness in my life. His birth marked the beginning of my daily gratitude practice and has continued to play a huge part in why I have seen such a mindset shift over the last few years.

While reading about the importance of gratitude as a whole, and seeing a significant change in myself due to its daily presence, I found that daily gratitude can not only make us happier and healthier people but it can completely transform the trajectory of our lives. I have seen the power of gratitude in my own life, time and time again.

Some important ways that daily gratitude can and does impact our lives are:

  • Reduces toxic emotions
  • Improves physical health
  • Improves psychological health
  • Strengthens our emotions
  • Reduces materialism
  • Creates a more optimistic view on life
  • Improves self-esteem

Think of it this way – you get up every day and do your daily workout. What happens? You see physical changes in yourself, as well as, in your emotional and mental health. Right? Practicing daily gratitude is no different than any other daily practice or habit that you create for yourself. If you choose to impose this new habit into your daily life, then you will start to see a shift in your mindset and therefore, a shift in the core of your overall health and happiness.

Practicing gratitude can look like so many different things to so many different people. Ultimately, it isn’t something that is hard to implement in one’s life. Below I list my favorite ways of practicing gratitude during my day to day life. You don’t have to do all of these things every single day, but just make a conscious effort to do one or two of them daily and see how your overall level of happiness and contentment starts to take shape.
