Let’s talk about family game night, shall we? Many families are looking for ways to disconnect from the outside world and to reconnect with the people that mean the most to them. Family game night has become my family’s way of making sure that disconnect and reconnect takes place fairly regularly.
In a world that is so full of “noise,” families often struggle to carve time out of their busy days for real life, quality connection with one another. As my boys have gotten older, I recognize the need for that family connection more than ever before.
When children get older, and schedules get busier, often the only way to truly make that time for one another is by making a plan and sticking to it. While we do not do family game night on a set day every week, we try to pick a day when our schedules will allow and make sure we make it a priority.
Family game night is our way of truly finding that family connection when most often, so many other things are screaming for our attention.
Until this past year or so, finding games that were age-appropriate for all of our boys, with a seven-year age gap, proved to be tricky. We scoured the web for family games for kids that would entertain all five of us and ended up finding some pretty great ones along the way.
Our favorite games to play with one another have grown in number, but today, I am going to share our top 10. These games have created not only welcomed family connections over the years, but they have also filled our home with laughter, time, and time again.
